About Us

The Alex Siegel Memorial Foundation was created to honor the life and legacy of Alex Siegel, a courageous, kind, and joyful child who left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

Alex was born with severe congenital neutropenia, a rare disease that prevented his body from producing the white blood cells needed to fight some infections. Diagnosed at just eight weeks old, he spent his 9 short years undergoing daily injections, yearly bone marrow biopsies, and frequent hospital stays. But to most, you would never have known. Alex was a thriving, happy, caring and adventurous kid.

At age nine, when signs of leukemia began to emerge, Alex bravely underwent a bone marrow transplant. He fought with incredible strength, but just after celebrating 100 days post-transplant, he faced a devastating battle with graft-versus-host disease which led to complications he could not overcome. On July 25, 2022, just weeks before his 10th birthday, Alex passed away.

Alex was funny, smart, and endlessly compassionate. He loved his family, his friends, his dog Snacks, Star Wars, Minecraft, magic tricks, and all the simple joys of childhood. He inspired those around him with his resilience and kindness. Now, it is our turn to carry his legacy forward.

The Alex Siegel Memorial Foundation is dedicated to spreading joy, fostering kindness, and making a meaningful impact in his name. We focus on the things and people Alex loved, striving to create a world where every day is an opportunity to bring happiness and light - just like Alex did.

Together, we honor Alex by turning his spirit into action, his love into lasting change, and his memory into a force for good.
